  • Signing up is done at a gaming facility in person, or in a meeting held online with a BCLC employee. After that, the photo ID scanned on entry to any BC casino is checked against the list of barred people.

Four comic drawings show the real Casino Nanaimo as it looks now. Their subjects are the front with its turquoise glass entrance, that entrance at night, the building at dusk and The Well's entrance. Image software drew them from real photographs, some published by the casino, some posted by visitors: drawings, not photographs. The street by the harbour, the café counter and the steps by the water are invented, and the figures in every picture are fictional as well. The harbour at blue hour and the coffee cup on a window ledge are two-colour, photo-like scenes made from a written description; neither depicts an actual location.

Snuneymuxw First Nation owns Casino Nanaimo through Petroglyph Development Group, its economic development company. That company bought the casino from Great Canadian on January 16, 2025. Before then, Great Canadian had operated it since it opened in 1986. Day-to-day running is in the hands of Lahal Casino Management LP. The guide has no tie to any of them.

What if a Game Break term later feels too long?

Once picked, it is fixed. Whichever Game Break length is selected, 6 months or 1, 2 or 3 years, it cannot be altered afterwards. The length is worth weighing before enrolling.
